Focused on middle school and high school students in grades 6-12, these programs seek to effectively reach students with spiritual support as they live through these hugely formative years. This multi-level discipleship ministry functions to support and encourage a growing faith and a daily walk with Christ, meeting students at whatever point they are in their spiritual journey.
Catalyst: Wednesday nights from 7:30 – 9 PM. Meets at the home of youth leader Dianne Pruim (1073 W. Lakewood Blvd.) This is a small group for 9th - 12th grade students wanting to grow in their faith and use their gifts to make a difference in the world – to be a catalyst for change and to see the Kingdom of God grow! Ongoing Dive Deep: Sunday mornings from 8:30 – 9:30 AM. Meets in “The Loft” upstairs at the East end of the church building. This is a small group for 9th - 12th grade students who want to “dive deep” into God’s Word and who desire to have their faith stretched. Ongoing Mentoring: “I Believe” is an 8 week one-on-one mentoring based program designed to help students understand and articulate the Christian faith and often leads to students making a public profession of their faith in Jesus Christ. This program is offered each fall and spring. Students are paired with an adult mentor and those pairs determine their own meetings times. The fall “I Believe” session this year is beginning with an informational meeting on Sunday morning, September 30. To sign up (deadline is Sep. 23), please sign your name on the bulletin board outside of Eric Peterson’s office, or e-mail him Outreach Events - Approximately 6-8 events per year that encourage students to bring friends, meet new people and show that Christ followers have a lot of fun! Service Projects - a number of opportunities throughout the year allow students to serve and grow. A few examples include canned food collection, random-acts-of-kindness, grounds work at the church, and raking leaves for shut-ins. Retreats - We offer a few spiritual retreats each year for students to get away and grow in their relationship with God and one another. Mission Trips - Each year we plan mission trips to different parts of our nation or world. Usually these are during the summer and are a week-long trip.
