Beechwood Church firmly believes in the principle of "every member a minister." God has given each of us abilities that can be used to further His kingdom. These are just a few of the opportunities to serve at Beechwood Church. If you know where you'd like to serve, please fill out our volunteer form. Building and Grounds Care - The property we are blessed with brings with it a lot of challenges. From set-up and tear-down of tables and chairs for large events in the Great Room, to mowing the fields, to decorating the worship areas and emptying trash cans, if you have a desire to help care for the property contact Jim Borgman, Building and Grounds Superintendent, to find out how you can help. Audio/Visual Tech Team - The sounds you hear and everything on the screens during worship at both Sunday morning services are supported by volunteer technicians. Even the video camera that records our Celebration Service each week is operated by a volunteer. If you'd like to support our musicians and worship leaders as well as those who watch or listen to our services on CD or DVD, join this dedicated team. Come with your passion for excellence. We will train you! Contact Mike Gafa for more information on joining this team. Teaching and Mentoring - If you have a love of children, many teaching opportunities are available on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. If you'd rather work one-on-one, our Kids Hope partnership with Woodside School or "I Believe" program which pairs an adult with a student seeking to make a first-time profession of faith, might be right for you. If you like to lead and challenge adults, there are classes on Sunday mornings and small groups throughout the week who are seeking leaders. Contact Bo Mircea about kids, Eric Peterson about youth opportunities. Congregational Care - Members from the congregation with gifts of compassion and encouragement serve along side the pastoral staff in maintaining contact with individuals in the congregation. Sometimes meals are provided or transportation to appointments. Contact Pastor Marv Beukelman to learn more Beacon Ministry - This ministry provides baby care items and clothing for newborns who are referred to us from area family agencies. From April through October on Tuesday afternoons and evenings, families may come to receive items like cribs, clothing and bottles for their babies. Contact Imelda Baeza to learn how you can help. Greeting/Hospitality Team - Do you love to make people feel welcome when they enter the building? Do you enjoy preparing food? This team would love to have you join them on Sunday mornings before each worship service to greet people and prepare food for our fellowship time following worship. Contact Mike Gafa to find out how you can help. Nursery Staff - during regular worship services, congregational meetings and other special events, our nursery is staffed by caring volunteers. If you have a love for the smallest of God's children, please contact Bo Mircea, Director of Children's Ministries, to find out how you can help. Prayer Team - This group of dedicated pray-ers are in contact with Pastors Carolyn Raar and Marv Beukelman to share the concerns of many of our members. Church members Tom Hill and Sylvia Tubergen lead and coordinate many activities. This group, along with other members, also lift up concerns for our community and our world. Contact Pastor Marv Beukelman to learn how you can join this team. Musicians - Do you love to sing or play an instrument? Each week, our music worship is lead by a team of volunteers. Contact Tracy Kerley, Director of Worship and Music, to find a place for you on this team. Office Support - Our busy front office staff appreciates those who come in to help answer the phones, prepare large mailings and other general office duties. Contact Mike Gafa to find out more about when your help is needed.
