Beechwood Church has many active ministries for learning and serving. These are just a few of the opportunities to get involved at Beechwood Church. Congregational Care - Members from the congregation with gifts of compassion and encouragement serve along side the pastoral staff in maintaining contact with individuals in the congregation. Sometimes meals are provided or transportation to appointments. Contact Pastor Marv Beukelman to learn more Support Groups - Everyone has hard times and sometimes having people to walk along side to help you through can make all the difference. If you're struggling with addictions, cancer or your self-image one of these groups may be able to help you. Contact Pastor Marv Beukelman to learn more Beacon Ministry - This ministry provides baby care items and clothing for newborns who are referred to us from area family agencies. From April through October on Tuesday afternoons and evenings, families may come to receive items like cribs, clothing and bottles for their babies. Contact Imelda Baeza to learn more. Nursery - during regular worship services, congregational meetings and other special events, our nursery is staffed by caring volunteers. If you have a love for the smallest of God's children, please contact Bo Mircea, Director of Children's Ministries, to find out how you can help. Children's Programs - are a vibrant part of Beechwood Church. On Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings you will find children up through 5th grade involved in worship, classes and choirs. We also minister to Woodside Elememtary School with our Kids Hope partnership. Contact Children's Director, Bo Mircea, if you'd like to know more about these progams. Youth Programs - include a Wednesday night Middle School group and a Sunday Night High School group. They meet together to study and learn as well as to strengthen relationshps. Social events are also planned for each group and fun "bring-a-friend" nights often include both groups. Contact Youth Director Eric Peterson for more information on these groups. Young Adults - are growing in numbers and faith. Our seminary interns leads this group in social times, study times and building relationships. They meet on Sunday evenings and Tuesday evenings. Contact Eric Peterson for more information on joining this group. Adult LIFE Groups - are alive and well at Beechwood Church. There are topical groups, interest groups and age groups. Some meet at the church and many meet in homes. Here are some of the groups already organized and starting new studies this fall. Contact organizer Trudy Geschke @ 396-8645 if you'd like to find a group to join. Senior Adults are Young At Heart. This ministry is made up of folks who are at or near retirement age. They enjoy praying, studying, eating and being in fellowship with one another. From September through May, they meet at the church at noon on Wednesdays for a great meal (the price is right, too!) and for a Bible study. Contact Pastor Marv Beukelman for more information. Prayer Team - This group of dedicated pray-ers are in contact with Pastors Carolyn Raar and Marv Beukelman to share the concerns of many of our members. Church members Tom Hill and Sylvia Tubergen lead and coordinate many activities. This group, along with other members, also lift up concerns for our community and our world.
