In 1985, Beechwood Church purchased 86 acres of property located along Ottawa Beach Road. The property was bought with a goal of developing a church campus in three phases. The first phase was completed in 1990 when Beechwood built an all-purpose room, which served as a sanctuary for several years, and continues to be used for many ministries. In 1995, the second phase of the master plan was completed as Beechwood built an education wing and upper loft for the youth, connected to the multipurpose room. The bell tower was built in 1998 and the original bell from the steeple was finally rehung. An electronic carillon was also installed. In September of 2001 the 800-seat sanctuary was finished.
